The 3rd stage of the 2021 Women’s Tour saw its first-ever time trial! Nothing could be more British than a 10-mile time trial and that’s what the riders got. The course was fairly flat, a decent drag to start with was the only gradient challenge. The riders discovered how technical the course was in the recons. Demi Vollering said she rode it twice just to be sure about the corners. That came in handy as she demolished the course, finishing over a minute ahead of her next rivals. As a result, she took a commanding lead in the GC heading into the next few days of flat racing.
