Dutch cyclist Yara Kastelijn will be absent from the racing scene for a while. Originally slated to compete in the European Gravel Championships this weekend, Kastelijn is confronted with ongoing physical issues.
In a message shared on social media, Kastelijn explained: “Hey everyone, it’s been a while since I’ve participated in a race. That will continue for some time. After several crashes in the Tour de France Femmes, I’ve been dealing with concussion symptoms over the last few weeks. I’m still struggling with them.”
Kastelijn further mentioned that she won’t return to competition until she has fully recovered. A few weeks ago, she expressed on the Wielerflits podcast her intention to participate in several cyclocross events. However, those plans remain uncertain at this point.
