2021 Tour de France Schedule

The 2021 Tour de France schedule starts on 26th June 2021 in Brest. The Tour will role out of West Brittany’s major metropolitan area and slowly winds its way across the middle of France. The first time trial of this year’s Tour de France comes on Stage 5 on 30th June 2021. That will shake up the general classification and gives a chance for a time trial specialist to take the yellow jersey. The Alps are reached on 3rd July on Stage 8, presenting the first real major test for the main favourites of the 2021 Tour de France.

3 tough stages and the rest day will be in the Alps before the race heads south towards the Mediterranean Sea. A Tour favourite, Carcassonne with its castle, is reached on 9th July/Stage 12. After which, 5 days in the Pyrenees will do much to settle the general classification. The second rest day comes in the middle of that block, many riders will be able to stay the night at home in Andorra.

Stage 19 sees the 2021 Tour de France schedule bypass Bordeaux in what will be a flat recovery stage before the final time trial on Stage 20. This year’s time trial will be a more conventional one rather than the mountain climb that saw Tadej Pogacar take victory in 2020. A long transfer after the time trial sees riders start from Chatou on the outskirts of Paris. The final stage on the Champs Elysees will be on 18th July 2021.
