Career overview

Betsema has been one of the most recognisable Dutch cyclocross riders of the modern era, especially on sand-heavy courses. Her breakthrough 2018-19 season included World Cup victory at Koksijde, the European Championship bronze medal and wins across Aigle, Hittnau, Antwerpen, Otegem and other major crosses. She later added World Cup victories at Hulst in 2020 and Zonhoven in 2021, alongside Superprestige and X2O Trophy wins at venues including Ruddervoorde, Middelkerke, Brussels and Antwerpen. Betsema finished 3rd at the 2021 Cyclocross World Championships and remained a front-line elite rider with Pauwels Sauzen before joining De Ceuster-Bouwpunt for the 2025-26 season.
