Alba have confirmed that Mari Porton and Maddie Leech will both stay with the team for 2027, adding two more renewals to the squad that will race as CAMS Alba next season.
Porton will continue for a third season with the Scottish UCI Continental team after another year of steady progress on the road, while Leech has also re-signed for a third year in Alba colours. Their renewals follow Izzy Sharp’s extension and come as the team prepares for a new title partnership with Cycling Accident Management Service.
CAMS will replace Handsling as headline sponsor from 2027, with Alba Development Road Team becoming CAMS Alba. The backing allows the team to keep its development focus while moving into a new title-partner era.
Porton continues after another step forward in 2026
Porton, 20, has spent the past two seasons with Alba after joining from Tofauti Everyone Active. Her 2026 programme mixed UCI racing in Europe with the British domestic calendar, and she produced several solid results across both.
Her best UCI result came with 18th at Dwars door het Hageland, while she finished 15th in the British National Time Trial Championships and 22nd in the road race. On the domestic circuit she was fourth at the Dawlish Grand Prix and seventh at the Guildford Women’s Grand Prix.
Those results build on a first Alba season in 2025 that included ninth at the British National Circuit Championships. Porton remains an under-23 rider, giving the team another season to continue developing her across both time trials and one-day racing.
Porton said she was looking forward to another year with the same group, adding: “I’m really excited to race with a group of super-strong girls and to keep the good vibes going!”

Leech adds road continuity after becoming Madison world champion
Leech, 23, will also stay for a third season after joining Alba at the start of 2025 following two years with Lifeplus Wahoo. She has continued to combine road racing with a high-level track programme and arrived into 2026 as a world champion after winning the Madison with Katie Archibald at the 2025 Track World Championships in Santiago.
Her road results this season included seventh at the British National Circuit Championships, 14th in the national time trial and 25th at Le Samyn. She also raced a broad UCI programme with Alba, including the Festival Elsy Jacobs races and the team’s French spring campaign.
Leech’s value to Alba goes beyond individual road results. Her track background gives the team a rider with strong speed and race craft, while her experience at Continental and WorldTour-level events adds depth to a squad that continues to combine development riders with more established names.
“I’m really happy to have re-signed for 2027,” Leech said, describing Alba as a strong environment with good support and saying she wants to build on what the team has already achieved.
Handsling Alba becomes CAMS Alba for 2027
The two renewals arrive as the team enters another phase of its development. CAMS, the cycling accident management company, has agreed to become Alba’s headline sponsor from 2027, with the squad changing its name from Handsling Alba Development Road Team to CAMS Alba.

CAMS has previous experience in women’s cycling sponsorship through the former CAMS-Basso team, which Leech herself raced for in 2022. The company said the new Alba partnership is intended to support the pathway for young female riders and help them progress towards the highest levels of the sport.
The Scottish team was founded in 2022 and stepped up to UCI Continental level in 2024. It has since developed riders including Eilidh Shaw, Kate Richardson and Lauren Dickson, while retaining a strong place in the British domestic calendar alongside its European programme.
Porton and Leech now join Izzy Sharp among the confirmed 2027 renewals. The team is still building out the rest of its roster, with Porton and Leech adding continuity as the CAMS Alba identity comes into use.
For Porton, 2027 offers another year to turn consistent domestic and UCI performances into bigger results. For Leech, the challenge is to keep balancing her track ambitions with a road programme in which Alba can make use of both her speed and experience.
