Anna Kay sidelined for few weeks with a broken finger

Anna Kay

British cyclocross rider Anna Kay will be out of racing for the next few weeks. The 23-year-old who rides for 777 crashed on New Year’s Day at the X2O Badkamers Trophy race in Baal. In that crash, she had to leave the race and later confirmed she had sustained a broken finger.

“I will be out for a few weeks with a broken finger. I hope I can return to the field at the end of the season. Thanks to my team 777 for the support.”

Anna Kay

Kay has had a strong season with 2 wins in the British National Trophy Series in Derby and near her home in South Shields. She also won the Verge Cross Clonmel over in Ireland.

At the higher levels, she achieved 4th in the Exact Cross in Essen and also has top-10 results in Beringen, Meulebeke, Woerden, Kortrijk, Boom, Mol, Loenhout and the European Championships in Namur.

The exact date of Kay’s return is unknown so far but there’s a chance we will see her again before the cyclocross season is over.
