Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio for the fifth time South African time trial champion

Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio has recaptured her South African time trial title on Thursday. She clocked off at 28 minutes and 24 seconds on the 20-kilometer course in Swadini Forever Resort, nearly a minute faster than the number two, Carla Oberholzer.

Moolman-Pasio: โ€œThe plan was to have a quick start, because the road went slightly uphill there. Soon after, I had my eyes on Carla Oberholzer, she was like a rabbit for me, a point of reference. After the turning point I surpassed her. I realised then that I had given quite a lot under these warm conditions. I continued to give everything I had in me and am very happy with this success.โ€

On Saturday, Moolman-Pasio starts of the national championship on the road, defending her title.
