ToggleThe new deal will see Campagnolo’s Super Record Wireless groupset and Bora Ultra WTO wheels become standard on Cofidis’ LOOK Cycle bikes from January 1st. This marks a return to the forefront of the sport for Campagnolo, a company with a storied history in cycling.
Precision and adaptability: the Super Record Wireless groupset
Cofidis’ new bikes will feature Campagnolo’s Super Record Wireless groupset, which has been praised for its rapid, accurate gear changes and strong, modular braking. Riders will have access to various cassette and crankset configurations to meet their individual racing needs.
Team mechanics noted the system’s adaptability, aided by the MyCampy 3.0 app. This app serves as a customisable “control centre,” allowing precise tuning of gear-shifting modes, screen layouts, and other electronic settings.
Aerodynamics and performance with Bora Ultra WTO wheels
The Bora Ultra WTO wheels, known for their stiffness and aerodynamic efficiency, will also be integral to Cofidis’ racing arsenal. Riders can choose between 45mm and 60mm rim depths, paired with tubeless tyres to suit race-day conditions.
Campagnolo has incorporated its G3 spoke system to ensure minimal power loss during sprints and climbs. Laboratory tests have highlighted the CULT bearings’ smoothness, further enhancing the wheels’ appeal. For time trials, the team will utilise the Bora Ultra WTO TT disc wheel, praised for its lightweight construction at just 930 grams.
Testing and collaboration
This decision follows an extensive period of testing, during which Cofidis’ technical staff evaluated Campagnolo’s equipment against their rigorous standards. The Italian brand collaborated with LOOK Cycle’s engineers and Cofidis’ mechanics to tailor the bikes to the demands of WorldTour racing.
A representative from Cofidis remarked that the alignment between LOOK and Campagnolo’s technical teams “ensured every component met the unique challenges of the WorldTour.”
