Chiara Consonni has officially signed with Canyon SRAM for the upcoming 2025 season, adding her sprinting expertise to the squad’s roster for the next two years. After a successful stint with UAE Team ADQ, the Italian rider now sets her sights on achieving more victories with Canyon SRAM, including her ambition to win a classic race in Northern Europe.
“Canyon SRAM has been my dream team since I was young,” Consonni said, thrilled with the move. “To be part of this team in the next years will be a special feeling. Even if I have a lot to learn, I hope to contribute to the team with my experience in the sprint and lead out.”
Consonni, who recently celebrated a major milestone with a gold medal in the Madison at the Paris Olympics, feels her success on the track has provided a new level of confidence. “Some weeks ago, I took part in my first Olympics, and I came back home with the best result possible,” she explained. “After this experience, I’m more confident in myself. This victory motivates me to never give up and to give 100 percent in every situation.”
With her new team, Consonni has clear goals in mind. “My objectives for the upcoming seasons are to improve as a person and as an athlete and to win a classic race in the North, which are also my favourite races,” she noted. Canyon SRAM’s roster, known for its depth of experience and talent, seems to be a perfect fit for Consonni’s aspirations. “This team aligns with my goals because it’s full of people with a lot of experience and motivation.”
At 25, Consonni has already built an impressive palmarès, which includes multiple stage wins at the Giro d’Italia, victories in races like Dwars Door Vlaanderen, and successes in the Simac Ladies Tour. She will be joining an already stacked Canyon SRAM lineup, including Tour de France Femmes winner Kasia Niewiadoma and Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig.
As she embarks on this new chapter with Canyon SRAM, Consonni’s infectious energy and positivity are attributes she looks forward to sharing with her teammates. “I’m an extrovert and solar person with a lot of energy, and I hope to become part of the group and share my good vibes with the riders and staff,” she said.
