Christine Majerus thinking of retirement after 2024 Olympics

Christine Majerus

Team manager Danny Stam knows Majerus’ qualities like no other. โ€œEveryone knows that we always talk about the winners, but that is never possible without riders like Christine. She is one of the key figures for our victoriesโ€, says Stam. โ€œThat is a great compliment to year as a rider and as a person. I want to thank her for that.โ€

โ€œIt’s good if you can decide when to stop yourself. I think I’ve had a pretty good career and I’ve tried to stay at the top level and do my best for the team. I still have a small personal goal, and that is to make it to the 2024 Games in Paris. It would be great to end my career at the Olympic Games. Then I think I have given enough to the cycling world.”

The SD Worx team recently signed another Luxembourger, Marie Schreiber who broke Christine Majerus’ 13-year streak of winning the Luxembourg national cyclocross title.
