Christine Majerus thinking of retirement after 2024 Olympics

Christine Majerus

Team manager Danny Stam knows Majerus’ qualities like no other. “Everyone knows that we always talk about the winners, but that is never possible without riders like Christine. She is one of the key figures for our victories”, says Stam. “That is a great compliment to year as a rider and as a person. I want to thank her for that.”

“It’s good if you can decide when to stop yourself. I think I’ve had a pretty good career and I’ve tried to stay at the top level and do my best for the team. I still have a small personal goal, and that is to make it to the 2024 Games in Paris. It would be great to end my career at the Olympic Games. Then I think I have given enough to the cycling world.”

The SD Worx team recently signed another Luxembourger, Marie Schreiber who broke Christine Majerus’ 13-year streak of winning the Luxembourg national cyclocross title.
