Dwars door Vlaanderen – 7th place for Marie Le Net

Marie takes 7th place at Dwars door Vlaanderen

Brodie, present at the front all day, tells us about her race: “We aimed to make the race aggressive. The girls were in a good position and Victorie attacked on the first climb. Afterwards, we missed a breakaway but we made sure to react quickly. On the Kanarieberg it got really selective and I came back upfront with a good tempo so I continued and attacked. Eventually, I spent the whole day in the break! The final was going to be a sprint so Marie and Cecilie worked together to maintain a good position. Marie finished 7th, so we can be confident about her form after a very tough race.”

Marie, who competed in the bunch sprint, looks back on her race: “It was a great race! The goal was to have an attacking race, and we showed great offensiveness. My role was to focus on the sprint. It was a first for me, it felt weird not going for the breakaways, but I think I did well. All the girls did a great job whether it was Emilia, Maëlle or Victorie who gave us very good attacks. Brodie gave us a very big number, super strong! Cecilie responded as soon as the best ones left. In the final, Cecilie and Brodie did a great job and I thank them so much, it touches me to see my usual leaders working for me today. It makes me want to work for them, even more, when it’s their goals. It’s a very positive race for me! I would have still wanted to do better, to thank them for all the work they have provided. I lacked a little experience, a little power, which I hope to acquire over the races! Thank you to everyone, the girls, but also all the staff who work with and for us!”
