European TT silver medallist Laura Fivé joins AG Insurance – Soudal Devo Team for 2027

European junior time-trial silver medallist Laura Fivé will join the AG Insurance – Soudal Devo Team for the 2027 season, giving the Belgian development programme another of the country’s leading young prospects.

The 17-year-old arrives after a 2026 season in which she established herself as one of Belgium’s strongest junior time triallists. Her latest result came at the European Road Championships in Slovenia, where she finished second in the junior women’s individual time trial, just three seconds behind Spain’s Alejandra Neira.

Fivé comes within three seconds of European title

Fivé was fastest at both intermediate checks on the 22.1km European Championship course before Neira overturned the deficit in the final section. Silver nevertheless capped a season in which Fivé had already shown the same strength against the clock at national and world level.

In May, she successfully defended the Belgian junior individual time-trial title in Maarkedal, making it two consecutive national championships in the discipline. She followed that with sixth in the Belgian junior road race before taking fifth in the individual time trial at the UCI Junior Road World Championships in Montréal.

Her European Championships did not end with the time trial either, with Fivé also finishing 15th in the junior women’s road race.

Track racing adds another part to Fivé’s development

Fivé’s 2026 season has not been limited to the road. She also raced at the UCI Junior Track World Championships, finishing fifth in the Madison alongside Anna Meeusen. Earlier in the year she placed 11th at the junior Ronde van Vlaanderen, adding further experience in a very different type of race.

That combination of time-trial ability, track speed and exposure to difficult one-day racing gives AG Insurance – Soudal a rider with several areas still to develop rather than one already locked into a single role.

AG Insurance – Soudal continue building 2027 development group

Fivé is the latest young rider confirmed for the team’s 2027 development set-up, following the recent arrival of Karolína Špicarová into the AG Insurance – Soudal development programme. The Belgian squad has continued to place a strong emphasis on bringing young riders through a structured pathway before they step into the senior ranks.

For Fivé, the move means a first season in a development environment built around learning and progression rather than immediate results pressure.

“I’m really looking forward to being part of AG Insurance – Soudal from next year,” Fivé said. “It’s a great opportunity to gain a lot of experience, learn and continue to develop as a rider within this Belgian development team, both on and off the bike.”

Her 2027 season will therefore begin with one of Belgium’s most established women’s development programmes, after a final junior campaign that has already put her among the most promising young time triallists in Europe.
