Femke de Vries will stay with Team Visma | Lease a Bike Women for another year after signing a new deal that keeps her with the team through the end of 2026. The 31-year-old joined the team from GT Krush Rebellease in the summer of 2024, and quickly became one of the most reliable additions to the Dutch squad’s support core.

A latecomer to professional cycling, De Vries originally trained as a medical doctor before stepping into the Continental scene with GT Krush in 2022. Her steady rise through the ranks caught attention last season when she made the mid-year move to Visma and immediately looked at home in WorldTour races. Since then, she’s played a key role in stage races, including a top ten overall at Setmana Ciclista Valenciana and stage podiums at both the Baloise Ladies Tour and Tour de Suisse. She also finished second overall at the Tour de Feminin.

“It was a dream come true to race my first WorldTour events,” said De Vries. “I’ve developed a lot in a short time and the set-up here really suits me. There’s clarity, good people around me, and I feel like I’m progressing every month. I’m looking forward to helping the team again next season.”

Visma’s head of coaching, Jacco Verhaeren, was pleased with the renewal and praised the impact De Vries has made behind the scenes.

“She’s been a steady presence in our biggest races, including stage races and Grand Tours. Her understanding of race dynamics and her work alongside leaders like Pauline Ferrand-Prévot and Marianne Vos makes her incredibly valuable,” he said.

With a full season now ahead of her, De Vries is expected to play an even greater role in the team’s climbing units and stage race line-ups throughout 2025.
