Team Visma | Lease a Bike Women heads to La Vuelta a España Femenina with an ambitious dual approach – stage wins and a general classification campaign. The Dutch WorldTeam lines up with an experienced and versatile squad for the season’s first Grand Tour, which starts on 4th May with a team time trial and builds toward a decisive summit finish on 10th May.
Pauline Ferrand-Prévot is named GC leader, capping off a standout spring that included a commanding win at Paris-Roubaix. While the team describes it as her first Grand Tour, the French rider actually raced the Giro Donne three times between 2013 and 2015, winning a stage and taking the youth classification in the process. Nearly a decade later, she returns to stage racing at the highest level, but this time with a clear focus on the overall standings.
“I never dared to dream of a spring like this,” said Ferrand-Prévot. “It was amazing but demanding. I enjoyed a short break at home to recharge and now I feel completely ready to give it my all in La Vuelta. I’ll approach it with the same mindset I had this spring, nothing required, everything allowed.”
Alongside Ferrand-Prévot, Marianne Vos adds considerable firepower to the line-up. The 37-year-old will be making her third appearance at La Vuelta, having claimed four stage wins across the last two editions, equal to Demi Vollering at the top of the most stage wins. After a mid-spring training block in Mallorca, Vos arrives fresh and focused.
“My role and goals will vary,” said Vos. “Some days I’ll go for the win, others I’ll be supporting Pauline. We’re balancing stage ambitions and GC support, and it’s exciting to be doing both with this group. We’ve had a strong spring and we want to carry that form into La Vuelta.”
Completing the seven-rider squad are Femke de Vries, Marion Bunel, Maud Oudeman, Viktória Chladoňová, and Imogen Wolff—a line-up blending Grand Tour debutants with riders ready to work deep into mountain stages and sprint finishes alike.
Team Visma | Lease a Bike approaches the race with confidence and clarity: Ferrand-Prévot has the form to test herself on GC, Vos has the experience to take stage wins, and the rest of the squad is in place to support both aims. Whether it ends with red jersey contention or another entry in Vos’ stage-win tally, the Dutch team is ready to race La Vuelta on its own terms.
