Flanders Classics Teams Up with Life Time Events for Heathland Gravel, Official Unbound Gravel Qualifier

In a groundbreaking collaboration, Flanders Classics and American Life Time Events are joining forces to bring gravel cycling enthusiasts an unprecedented opportunity. From the 9th to the 11th of August, Flanders Classics will host Heathland Gravel in Maasmechelen, marking the first-ever official Unbound Gravel qualifier in Europe.

Tomas Van Den Spiegel, CEO of Flanders Classics, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, “By combining our experience, we are building a unique concept. Unbound Gravel in Emporia, Kansas is for gravellers what Kona in Hawaii is for the triathlete.”

This partnership signifies a significant milestone in the history of Unbound Gravel, offering at least 50 participants the chance to secure a spot in the prestigious event in 2025. Kimo Seymour, President of Life Time Events, shared his enthusiasm, highlighting the expansion of Unbound Gravel’s accessibility to Europe.

Heathland Gravel promises a thrilling three-day event, featuring social rides, live music, and, of course, a thrilling race through Hoge Kempen National Park. Van Den Spiegel emphasised the unique course, which showcases the natural beauty of Limburg, Belgium.

The longest distance ride, spanning 160 km, offers participants the opportunity to qualify for Unbound Gravel 2025. Half of the spots will be awarded based on performance, while the other half will be randomly allocated, ensuring that every participant has a chance to secure their place in gravel cycling history.

Tickets for Heathland Gravel are available now, with options for distances of 160 km, 110 km, and 70 km. This event not only marks the debut of Heathland Gravel but also signifies a significant step forward in Unbound Gravel’s international expansion.

For cyclists seeking adventure and unforgettable experiences, Heathland Gravel offers a gateway to the world of gravel cycling, bridging continents and uniting cyclists in pursuit of their passion. Further details and ticket purchases can be found at
