Middelkerke’s Noordzeecross moves to a Thursday evening slot on 5 November 2026, bringing the elite women’s Superprestige race under floodlights just two days before the European Cyclocross Championships. The official race programme puts the women at 18:30 in Belgium, which is 17:30 GMT in Britain. For UK viewers, the organiser lists TNT Sports 2 as its television broadcaster, with HBO Max also listed as a streaming platform subject to territory and subscription restrictions.
Do not confuse the published race start with the beginning of the television programme. The 17:30 GMT time comes from the organiser’s published programme, not a promise that a UK broadcast begins at precisely that minute. Television guides can move coverage or start a programme before the first lap. Check TNT Sports 2 and the HBO Max sports section on Thursday afternoon, especially if you plan to watch live rather than catch up.
Middelkerke women’s race time in the UK
The elite women’s Noordzeecross is scheduled for Thursday, 5 November at 18:30 CET in Middelkerke. Britain has already returned to GMT by November, so the UK start is 17:30. The race is expected to take around 50 minutes, although lap numbers and the precise finishing time depend on conditions and the organisers’ decisions.
Earlier in the day, the local programme lists youth racing at 15:30 CET and junior men’s and women’s racing at 16:45 CET. Those convert to 14:30 and 15:45 GMT. They are part of the event schedule, but that does not mean the UK broadcaster will carry every category. The elite women’s race is the relevant starting point for the main live television guide.
The elite men’s race follows at 20:30 CET, or 19:30 GMT. That two-hour gap is important because the evening programme is built around two separate elite races rather than one continuous mixed event. If you are watching both, check the channel guide for any changes between programmes. The event takes place at Sportpark De Krokodiel, not on a seaside road circuit, and the floodlit setting is part of this edition’s identity.
Which channel shows the women’s Superprestige race?
The official Superprestige event page identifies TNT Sports 2 for viewers in the United Kingdom. That channel allocation comes directly from the series organiser, rather than being inferred from previous rounds. It is still sensible to check the electronic programme guide close to the start, because live sport can be moved between channels.
In Britain, TNT Sports holds the cycling rights previously associated with Eurosport. The Eurosport name still appears in the organiser’s list for some European territories, including Eurosport 1 in the Netherlands and Eurosport 2 in France. Those are not the UK channels. A Dutch listing for Eurosport 1 is therefore not a reason to search for a defunct UK Eurosport service.
Belgian coverage is listed through Play Sports and Pickx+ Sports. Those services are not the default route for a British viewer, and access may be limited by subscriptions or location. The organiser’s worldwide HBO Max listing also carries a territorial caveat. For someone in the UK, start with the confirmed TNT Sports 2 entry and the UK streaming arrangement.
Can you stream Middelkerke through HBO Max?
HBO Max became the UK streaming home for TNT Sports cycling coverage in March 2026, replacing discovery+ for this purpose. Subscribers should look in the live sports section and search for Superprestige, Middelkerke or Noordzeecross. The exact event title can vary between a channel programme and a standalone stream, so it is worth checking both.
An entertainment-only HBO Max package is not sufficient for TNT Sports coverage. Viewers need the relevant sports access, either directly or through a television provider whose package includes it. If you use a bundled subscription, check the provider’s instructions for activating HBO Max before the race rather than trying to resolve login issues during the first lap.
The organiser lists HBO Max with a territorial restriction warning, so do not assume a link shared by a broadcaster in another country will work in Britain. Equally, the presence of a race in an overseas HBO Max guide does not prove the same stream will appear in every UK account. The UK listing on race day is the final check. If the race is absent from the home screen, search the cycling section and the TNT Sports 2 live channel.
Why this edition of Noordzeecross is different
Middelkerke is a familiar cyclocross venue, but the November 2026 event has been moved away from its traditional late-winter place in the calendar. The organisers have chosen a Halloween-themed evening race at Sportpark De Krokodiel. Artificial lighting changes the atmosphere for spectators and can also affect how riders judge depth, shadows and technical features.
The event falls immediately before the European Championships in Zeddam on 7 and 8 November. That creates a selection dilemma for riders who are targeting the European jersey. A hard Superprestige effort could be valuable race preparation, but it also leaves limited recovery time before Saturday’s elite women’s championship. Not every rider named as a potential contender in earlier previews should be assumed to start at Middelkerke.
The previous Noordzeecross women’s winner was Amandine Fouquenet, according to the series organiser. It is a useful reference, but the earlier edition came at a different stage of the season. A rider who was strongest in a February race is not necessarily the favourite for a floodlit November contest. Form, start lists and conditions need fresh checking.
What to watch once the race starts
The first lap will show whether the floodlit circuit allows a group to remain together or whether the technical sections create gaps immediately. Passing opportunities, the position of the pits and the quality of the surface will all matter. A rider who loses places in traffic may spend several laps chasing even if her raw pace is competitive.
The event’s placement in the Superprestige series means the race also has a points-classification context, separate from the European Championships. Riders chasing the season-long series may have a different appetite for risk from those treating Middelkerke as a final test before Zeddam. The fact that the two events fall close together makes that distinction especially interesting.
