Ilaria Sanguineti (Retired)
Ilaria Sanguineti is a retired Italian cyclist who developed into one of the peloton’s most accomplished lead-out riders and domestiques during a professional career spanning more than a decade. Particularly effective in fast one-day races and flatter stage races, she also achieved notable results of her own, including overall victory at the Tour de Bretagne Féminin and a win at Dwars door het Hageland. She finished her professional career with Lidl-Trek after previously spending long spells with BePink and Valcar.

Career overview
Sanguineti established herself as a promising young Italian rider with BePink, winning the Tour de Bretagne Féminin overall in 2015 and taking silver in the under-23 road race at the European Championships. She later joined Valcar, where she became an increasingly important support rider while still collecting strong individual results, including podium finishes at the Italian road championships. Her most significant one-day victory came at Dwars door het Hageland in 2022. Sanguineti joined Lidl-Trek in 2023 and became particularly valued for her positioning, lead-out work and support of the team’s sprinters, including Elisa Balsamo. She remained with Lidl-Trek through her final professional season in 2025 before retiring from the professional peloton.
