This year’s Ronde van Drenthe has seen quite a big route change due to regulations in the northern part of the Netherlands. Due to nitrogen levels, nature reserves and a limit on police support, the race has been reduced to laps around the VAMberg. Gone are the early cobbled sections and the final blast to the sprint in Hoogeveen, the race will now finish on one of the summits of the VAMberg. This will represent a different test but also there’s nothing to change why Lorena Wiebes can make it 4 wins in a row here either.
