Maelle Grossetete Finds Her Stride at New Team

Maelle Grossetete 2024 Ronde van Drenthe

In an interview with DirectVelo, Maelle Grossetete reflected on her recent performance at the Nokere Koerse race. She expressed delight at the teamwork that led to her teammate Lily Williams securing a podium spot, describing it as a collective achievement.

Grossetete, 25, discussed her transition to the American Women’s WorldTeam after six years with FDJ-Suez, emphasising the positive atmosphere within the new team and the different racing approach.

Regarding her role within the team, Grossetete acknowledged the increased responsibility and voiced disappointment with her performance at the Ronde de Drenthe, where she took on the role of leader but lost ground towards the end of the race. However, she appreciated the trust placed in her and expressed optimism about future opportunities.

Looking ahead, Grossetete anticipates a challenging schedule with races such as De Panne, Tour of Flanders, and Paris-Roubaix Femmes. She aims to maintain a strong presence in the final stages of these races, either for personal success or to support her teammates.
