Maëva Squiban to join UAE Team ADQ after breakthrough 2024 season

Maëva Squiban, one of Brittany’s brightest young talents, is set to leave Arkéa-B&B Hotels at the end of 2024 and join UAE Team ADQ, Le Telegramme has confirmed. The 22-year-old French rider, known for her versatility and climbing strength, has enjoyed a standout season that has put her on the radar of top teams.

Throughout 2024, Squiban has delivered consistent and impressive results, starting with a commanding victory in the mountains on Stage 1 of the Tour Féminin International des Pyrénées. Her performance at the AG Tour de la Semois further showcased her abilities, where she not only secured second place overall but also won the Youth classification. She demonstrated her climbing prowess once again during the Tour de France Femmes, finishing 44th on the challenging seventh stage, which tested even the most seasoned riders.

Her crowning moment came at the Tour Féminin de l’Ardèche, where Squiban won the time trial on Stage 4 and finished third in the general classification. She also dominated the points and mountain classifications, underlining her strength across different terrains. A few weeks later, Squiban wrapped up her season with a victory in the Youth category at the Chrono des Nations, capping off an exceptional year.

Joining UAE Team ADQ will see Squiban link up with Italian champion Elisa Longo Borghini, a recent recruit from Lidl-Trek. After such a promising 2024, the young Finistérienne is expected to bring further firepower to her new squad for the 2025 season.
