Cynisca Cycling has confirmed the signings of Alexis Magner and Heidi Franz for its 2025 roster. The American riders bring a wealth of experience to the USA-based UCI Pro Continental team, which continues to expand its presence on the womenโs road cycling scene.
Magner, who has been a prominent figure in American criterium racing, has over 12 years of professional road racing experience. Her career includes a six-year stint with World Tour team Canyon SRAM. “I’m extremely excited to start a new chapter in my career by joining Cynisca as a team leader and captain,” she said. Magner is keen to use her experience to mentor younger riders. “During my time as a professional racer, I have had a few of the best riders in women’s cycling history as my mentors. I have known success, and failure. My biggest goal for this new chapter is to pass along my knowledge of the sport to the next generation.”
Magnerโs palmarรจs include seven criterium wins in the US this year, alongside several top-10 finishes across 27 races. She also boasts strong European results, such as her 2nd place in the 2018 Ronde van Drenthe, a stage win at the Tour Cycliste Fรฉminin International de l’Ardรจche, and podium finishes at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Dwars door Vlaanderen.
Heidi Franz, also joins the team with international racing experience. She has ridden for several continental teams, including LifePlus Wahoo, and most recently represented Team USA at the UCI World Road and Gravel Championships. Franz expressed her enthusiasm about joining Cynisca. “Seeing how much the Cynisca programme has grown since it began has been really impressive. I feel confident that this is a team I can contribute to, plus have fun and continue developing with.”
Franzโs results this season include a top-5 finish in a stage of the 2024 Santos Tour Down Under and a top-20 at the UCI Gravel World Championships. She also secured her first European UCI win at the Egmont Cycling Race in Belgium last year.
With both riders now signed, Cynisca Cycling looks set to add further depth and experience to its squad as it enters the 2025 season.
