Team Visma | Lease a Bike has confirmed that Marianne Vos will remain with the team until she ends her professional career, following the signing of a new open-ended contract.
The 37-year-old has committed to staying with the team for as long as she continues racing, choosing to tie her future permanently to the Dutch squad. “How long that is, is written in the stars,” Vos said, “but what I do know is that I enjoy every day and it’s a privilege to race for this team.”
Since the foundation of the women’s team in 2021, Vos has played a central role in its evolution and success. In that time, she’s won stages in the Giro Donne, Vuelta, and Tour de France Femmes, where she also took the green jersey in 2024. She claimed victory at the Amstel Gold Race, earned world titles in cyclocross and gravel, and secured Olympic silver in Paris. That same season, she also celebrated her 250th professional victory, marking another milestone in a career already overflowing with them.
In a video announcement shared by the team, Vos addressed fans and colleagues:
“Dear friends of Team Visma | Lease a Bike, as I write these words, my mind drifts back to the special moments and adventures we’ve experienced together. The very first time I stood at the start line in yellow and black, I felt not just nerves and excitement, but above all pride.
Pride to be part of a team that pushes boundaries, fulfils ambitions, and where we challenge each other every day to become better. The successes we’ve achieved are the result of joy, passion, hard work, perseverance and team spirit.
Together we’ve celebrated victories in the Amstel Gold Race, the Vuelta, Giro Donne, Tour de France Femmes, world titles in cyclocross and gravel, and Olympic silver in Paris. And let’s not forget the win in the opening classic, Omloop Nieuwsblad, in 2024, after a period of rehab and recovery.
I’m thankful for the support I’ve received—both in good times and harder ones. We’ve built a unique and ever-stronger bond, where we support and empower each other like a family.
What motivates me in this team is the constant drive for innovation and development, without losing sight of the strength of the individual. Visma | Lease a Bike feels like home to me. A solid and safe haven where I can be myself, and where I find full support and trust to chase our shared goals and dreams.
The memories we’ve created feel like a ride that never ends.
That’s why I’ve decided, just like Wout, to stay here forever. Not literally for eternity, but at least until the end of my active career.”
Vos added, “I am happy that we are continuing together with a commitment that has no end date.”
Team CEO Richard Plugge called the contract extension “a huge asset” for the team: “Marianne is not only an exceptional champion, but also a role model for the entire team. Her drive to improve every day and her desire to continue developing herself perfectly align with who we are. I am incredibly happy that she will remain part of the team until the end of her active career and continue building our story.”
Vos closed her message with a personal note to fans and teammates: “Thank you for your trust. I’m happy we’ll keep going together, with a connection that has no end date. Here I feel at home, and here I want to stay.”
