Swiss Continental squad NexETIS will take the biggest step of its young existence next week as it lines up for the 2025 Tour de Suisse Women – its debut at WorldTour level. Launched just months ago under the umbrella of Swiss Cycling, the team is already being given the opportunity to race among the world’s elite, and will be led by Ginia Caluori and Jasmin Liechti from June 12th to 15th.
While their start is in part thanks to the Tour de Suisse being the country’s flagship race, the selection is also recognition of the team’s ambition and progress since its November launch. With a youthful roster built around national talent, NexETIS sees the invitation as a platform to gain exposure, race experience, and earn its place in the top tier.
Team manager Anna Wiese is clear about the importance of this moment: “This race offers our young roster a unique opportunity to measure themselves against the world’s top riders and teams. We come with full commitment, eager to learn, grow, and show our potential on home soil. Our goal is to race with courage, gain invaluable experience, and represent our team with positivity, unity and ambition.”
Strong foundations but more to learn
All but one rider in the Tour de Suisse line-up has already raced at Women’s WorldTour level this season, with 19-year-old Anina Hutter the only exception. Ginia Caluori and Jasmin Liechti, both 22, have led the team through its opening block of racing and will continue in that role on home roads.
Caluori comes from a mountain bike background and claimed silver in the U23 Olympic Cross-Country event at the 2023 World Championships in Glasgow. More recently, she impressed at Gracia Orlova, finishing second in the mountain classification. Liechti, also 22, won silver in the U23 time trial at last year’s Worlds in Zurich and delivered NexETIS’ first international win earlier this year in the Czech Republic with a strong TT performance.
The squad is completed by Lea Huber, who already has several WWT starts under her belt, newcomers Noelle Ingold and Larissa Tschenett, and debutant Hutter. While most have tasted racing at this level before, the team sees this first official appearance as a WorldTour team as crucial to long-term development.
Sports director Edi Telser believes the experience will be as valuable as the result sheet: “We have performed well on several occasions over the past few months, developed as a group and made progress in every respect, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. The Tour de Suisse is a considerable challenge, not only because of the strong competition, but also because of the many metres of elevation gain.”
With four stages and significant climbing on the cards, the 2025 Tour de Suisse Women will offer a true test of depth, consistency, and handling pressure at the top level – all of which NexETIS hopes to build on as part of its broader pathway into elite racing.
