FDJ-SUEZ has announced the signing of Dutch cyclist Nina Buijsman for the next two seasons. Buijsman, born on November 16, 1997, in Bovenkarspel, has been a prominent figure in the cycling world since her professional debut in 2018 with the Parkhotel Valkenburg team. She has enjoyed five successful seasons with the team before moving to the United States to join the Human Powered Health team. Buijsman is known for her exceptional abilities in hilly and mountainous terrain and her agility in reduced sprints.

The General Manager of FDJ-SUEZ, Stephen Delcourt, expressed his excitement about this new addition to the team. He stated, “We are delighted to announce the arrival of Nina within our team for the next two seasons. A renowned Dutch cyclist, Nina has a remarkable ability to pass hilly or mountainous routes with the best. She will not only be able to accompany our leaders in the mountain events, but also show great speed in the sprints in small groups. Nina is one more asset for our training to shine at the highest level.”

Buijsman herself is thrilled to join FDJ-SUEZ, seeing it as an incredible opportunity for her career. She eagerly anticipates contributing to the team over the next two seasons. She said, “Joining FDJ-SUEZ represents an incredible opportunity for my career. I can’t wait to wear these colours and contribute to the team for the next two seasons!”

Buijsman’s career began to rise in 2017 with a win in the Omloop van de IJsseldelta race. More recently, she achieved her best performance in the Women’s WorldTour, finishing third in the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race at the beginning of the season.

Buijsman’s addition to FDJ-SUEZ is expected to provide valuable support for the team’s leaders in mountain events. Moreover, her impressive sprinting abilities will make her a crucial asset in small-group sprints. As Buijsman leaves the Human Powered Health team, where she has ridden for the past two years, her move to FDJ-SUEZ signals a significant milestone in her career. With her extensive experience, Buijsman is poised to be a standout figure in the team’s roster, strengthening its chances of shining at the sport’s highest level.

With Buijsman’s signing, FDJ-SUEZ has added a skilled cyclist to their roster, one with a proven track record of success on hilly and mountainous terrain, as well as sprinting in reduced groups. Her prior successes with the Parkhotel Valkenburg and Human Powered Health teams show her potential to be a significant contributor to FDJ-SUEZ for the next two seasons. As the team prepares for the upcoming season, Buijsman’s presence will undoubtedly be a crucial factor in their pursuit of success on the world stage.
