On Sunday September 13, the Dutch time trial championships for juniors and novices were organised between Chaam and Ulvenhout. It was a great test opportunity for the TALENT Elabo Development Team. Nina Maathuis’ time trial was good for silver with the newcomers.
Maathuis, already successful in the Watersley Ladies Challenge last week, needed 22’44 ”to complete the flat 15.8 kilometer course. Her average speed of 41.7 kilometers per hour was only surpassed by Nienke Vinke.
Maathuis could live well with her second place. “I really gave everything. I really couldn’t get any harder than this. Then I just have to be happy with this. ”
Trainer Stefan van Klink was also positive about the result achieved. “When Nina came in I thought it could be good for gold, but there was one faster. Silver is also beautiful: I am very pleased with her performance. ”
Van Klink was also happy with the performance: “I think Zoë van Velzen was the best first-year student and Lisa van Belle also just did well. This also applies to Carola van de Wetering and Marit Wasmus and Norah Minck in the juniors. I am happy with what I have seen here. It’s also great that we were able to drive this race in this strange season! ”
