On Wednesday NXTG lines up for another great Belgian spring classic: Brabantse Pijl. Cathalijne Hoolwerf, Britt Knaven, Ilse Pluimers, Amelia Sharpe, Catalina Soto Campos and Julia Borgström make up the team. Julia previews:
I am excited for Wednesday’s race. It’s a hard but fun course. The start is hilly but if I remember correctly the roads are wide and nice. The circuit is hard with cobbles, short punchy hills and technical challenges.
Sports director Brent Van Ballenberghe is confident the team will do well:
I need the riders to be focused from the start because there are climbs immediately. Then the course becomes a bit flatter and I expect attacks to happen. I do hope we get someone on the attack. The riders need to help each other to try and save their energy against the strong World Tour riders. I hope to have a few riders in the first group at the finish line.
