The closing race of the 2021 season for our team will be Saturday’s Ronde van Drenthe on Saturday 23 October in The Netherlands. The team’s roster will be Alice Barnes, Neve Bradbury, Elise Chabbey, Ella Harris and Hannah Ludwig.
The final of the Women’s World Tour calendar will be contested over 159 kilometres of racing with 10 cobblestone sections and 4 ascents of the VAMberg climb. A race that’s been won in the past from a range of different scenarios, is again likely to be unpredictable as it stacks the climbs towards the end of the race in a new-look parcours.
Despite being the end of a long season, Elise says she has had no trouble staying motivated for the final race of what’s been a stellar season for the former Swiss road champion.
“Actually, I’ve still been really motivated to keep focused for this last race of the year. I haven’t found it hard at all,” explains Elise.
“I’ve spent the last few days riding with my sister which has been just a lot of fun. I’ve never done Ronde van Drenthe before but with the typical narrow roads and a bunch of cobblestone sections, I’m sure it’s not going to be a boring race. We’re pushing to have a great team race together and get a nice result for one of us.”
