Silvia Zanardi has extended her contract with her team until the end of 2025. Zanardi shared her excitement about staying with the team, saying, “I am so happy to be part of this team. There is a lot of potential, and every person on this team believes in the project and us girls.”
Zanardi is growing into an all-round rider, with sprinting becoming one of her strengths. Sheโs competed in a range of races in 2024, including stage races and Classics. Recently, she finished eighth at the Konvert Koerse and seventh in the GP Beerens in Belgium. Reflecting on her growth, Zanardi said, “I have changed a lot and feel more mature, but I still have a lot to learn. Iโm lucky to have older and more experienced teammates who help me.”
One of her best moments this season was at the Giro dโItalia Women, where she finished seventh on stage 2 and won the intermediate sprints competition by breaking away from the peloton. โI felt strong emotions and had a lot of fun,โ Zanardi recalled. โStanding on the final podium at my home race was a special feeling.โ
Zanardi has also learned the importance of staying calm and balanced during races, a key part of her teamโs philosophy. โIโve come to understand that serenity and tranquillity are key for me to perform well,โ Zanardi explained. โThe team really focuses on creating a happy and positive environment. Iโm grateful I can go to races with this mindset.โ
Looking ahead to 2025, Zanardi has clear goals. โNext year, I aim to start the season strong and find results right away,โ she said. She plans to use the winter to train and get into top shape for the coming season.
