The Strade Bianche is the first race of the Women`s WorldTour 2022.
Six steep climbs and eight gravel sectors are waiting for the peloton in the Strade Bianche (136 km). In the final kilometre in the centre of Siena a steep climb along Via Santa Caterina will be the final hurdle of the race into the finish on the beautiful Piazza del Campo.
Liv Racing Xstra brings Valerie Demey, Marta Jaskulska, Jeanne Korevaar, Ayesha McGowan, Katia Ragusa and Sabrina Stultiens to the start of one of the most challenging races of the season.
Ragusa is riding in her own country and looks forward to Saturday`s race. “My condition is growing. At the first day in Valanciana I crashed and had to recover a few days. Last weekend I did some good long training and now I am ready for Saturday. I am really proud to race Strade Bianche. It is one of the most beautiful races of the season. For me it will be extra special because my parents will visit the race. Honestly I don`t expect too much of the race. Still I will try to stay in the front, be active and help my team mates. I think that is the most important thing in this race. I am really looking forward to it.”
