With Covid-19 once again taking a grip in the heartlands of Europe, we are all extremely disappointed to have had to miss some of the biggest races of the season.
The British UCI teams have all faced considerable frustration having been hit hard by the British Government’s 14 day quarantine period and the associated issues with our UCI insurance. We have been fortunate to have been guided throughout by Dr Claire Rose – a former UCI rider and British Time Trial Champion – who knows only too well the importance of protecting riders from themselves.
Claire has been the medical lynchpin in The Cycling Alliance’s steering group on Covid-19, advising female riders and teams alike. The health and safety of our riders, staff and volunteers has been paramount in all of the difficult decisions we have had to take these past few months. Claire’s advice and support has been invaluable to us all and we look forward to working with her going forward.
We have been working super hard behind the scenes during this period and look forward to returning to the international peloton even stronger next year.
