Vera Looser

Vera Looser is a Namibian cyclist who races for Efficient Infiniti Insure and specialises in marathon mountain biking while continuing to compete selectively on the road. Formerly known as Vera Adrian, she is one of Namibia’s most successful cyclists, with numerous national road and time-trial titles alongside major off-road victories. Looser won the Absa Cape Epic in 2023 and the UCI Cross-country Marathon World Cup overall in 2024 before becoming African marathon champion in 2025.

Career overview

Looser represented Namibia at the 2016, 2020 and 2024 Olympic Games and dominated her country’s road championships for much of the 2010s and early 2020s. She won both the African road race and time-trial titles in 2016 before increasingly focusing on mountain biking. Partnering Kim Le Court, Looser won the 2023 Absa Cape Epic and also claimed the SPAR Swiss Epic that year. She enjoyed another major breakthrough in 2024, winning two rounds and the overall UCI Cross-country Marathon World Cup. Looser became African marathon champion in 2025, finished eighth at the World Championships and won the Swiss Epic and Cape Pioneer. She remained among the leading marathon riders in 2026, winning the sani2c alongside Samantha Sanders.
