11th place for Victorie Guilman at the Flèche Brabançonne
Today was the Flèche Brabançonne. On the program for the day, 142km around Overijse in Belgium, in inclement weather. The team was present, including Evita, who made her return to the competition. Victorie, designated leader of the day, finished in 11th place, while Demi Vollering (SD Workx) won the race.
Victorie looks back on her race: “It was the first time that I had a role as a protected rider in the team. So I was keen to do well and not to disappoint. Until entering the circuit Not much happened, but you always had to be well concentrated with this rain which never stopped. Unfortunately, when we arrived on the circuit we lost Evita in a fall. Then after Stine had a mechanical incident. Fortunately, Vittoria represented us well at the front in the breakaway, while Jade was good support for me. On each climb there was tough, I hung on to finally finish in a group for 7th place. I finished at the gates of the top 10 but I think it bodes well for the future. In any case, I thank the whole team for their confidence and their help!”
