ToggleWho taught you how to ride a bike & how old were you?
I learned to ride a bike just by watching my sister and my father do it. I was 3 years old and fell after doing a single descent with a bike bigger than me????
What was your first ‘proper’ road bike & what colour was it?
When I was 7 years old I decided that my parents would let me compete. I went to the Festibike, a fair for cycling equipment samples and fell in love with my first bike. A blue, grey and black BH, had wheels 600 and was the replica of a larger one.
What’s the most important piece of kit/advice that has helped boost your performance?
I always remember who I am, where I am and where I want to go. And I don’t give up until I hit the target.
What’s your favourite routes/places to ride?
I love training in my second house, which is in Asturias, there I have the perfect combination between the mountains and sea…
What tips do you have to keep the love of cycling going amidst all the training?
When I think I lose the illusion and training, I remember why I started and I just enjoy the little great things that cycling and my bike give me.
What experiences are still to do on your cycling ‘bucket list’?
I would like to take part in a Giro Rosa or the Tour of Flanders.
