Stage 3 of the 2025 La Vuelta Femenina covers 132km between Barbastro and Huesca, taking in gently rolling terrain that should favour the sprinters. The route includes long stretches of exposed roads, but only a small chance of echelons developing. Most teams will be looking toward a controlled run-in to set up their fast finishers.
Marianne Vos comes in as the favourite following her sharp sprint win on stage 2, and she’ll wear the green points jersey. With no climbs today, Ane Santesteban will retain the mountains jersey into stage 4 after her efforts on the Alto de la Creu de L’Aragall yesterday.
Letizia Paternoster starts in red after consistent finishes and time bonuses edged her ahead in the general classification. Vos sits close behind, and with more bonus seconds available at the intermediate sprint and finish line, the jersey could still change hands depending on how the day unfolds.
A straightforward sprint stage is expected, but attentiveness in the bunch will be key on roads where positioning can matter just as much as power.
