Bruno Armirail will race for Team Visma | Lease a Bike for the next two seasons, with the French rider set to bring power, experience, and versatility to the Dutch WorldTeam. Known above all for his time-trialling strength, the 31-year-old is a three-time French national champion in the discipline and arrives as a proven rider for both stage races and Grand Tours.

Armirail has spent eight years at WorldTour level and has carved out a reputation as a dependable and selfless team rider. His ability to contribute on a variety of terrains has made him a reliable option for leaders, while his strong time-trial engine allows him to anchor team efforts in stage races. Alongside those skills, 2025 has already seen him take a prominent role in the mountains, where his aggressive racing style earned him the King of the Mountains jersey at both the Tour of the Basque Country and the Critérium du Dauphiné.

“This is a unique opportunity in my career to race for one of the best teams in the world,” said Armirail. “I want to challenge myself by changing environment and race for a foreign team for the first time. I’m also looking forward to being part of a team that can compete for victory in nearly every race. I expect to play an important support role in the major races, but I also hope to keep improving in time trials, on climbs, and in controlling breakaways.”

His palmarès confirms that pedigree. Armirail has three French national time trial titles (2014 U23, 2022, 2024, 2025), along with a European Mixed Relay championship in 2023. He has also taken stage honours at the Tour du Poitou-Charentes in 2023 and has consistently been among the best in national-level tests against the clock.

Head of Racing Grischa Niermann welcomed the arrival of the Frenchman. “He’s suitable for all terrains. He brings a lot of experience and clearly has a big engine. But we believe that within our professional environment, he can still take further steps in his development.”

With his depth, reliability, and racing intelligence, Armirail is expected to be a valuable addition to Visma’s Grand Tour squads, while also maintaining his own ambitions in time trials and selective stages.
