India Grangier will remain with St Michel-Preference Home-Auber93 for the 2027 season after agreeing a one-year contract extension with the French Women’s ProTeam.
The 26-year-old joined the team at the beginning of 2026 following three seasons with Team Coop-Repsol. Her first year with St Michel-Preference Home-Auber93 has been more difficult than either rider or team hoped, something Grangier acknowledged openly when announcing that she would continue for another season.
“I am very happy to continue my journey with St-Michel – PREFERENCE HOME – Auber93 for another season,” Grangier said. “This season was a challenging one, with some disappointment for both myself and the team. I wasn’t able to perform at the level I had hoped for and that was expected of me.
“It is therefore a real satisfaction to feel that the team continues to believe in me and renew its trust in me. The goal will be to get back to my best level, enjoy racing my bike and, above all, contribute more to the team’s results.”
A difficult 2026 after two strong seasons in Portugal
Grangier arrived at St Michel-Preference Home-Auber93 with considerably stronger recent results than her 2026 numbers suggest.
Her time with Team Coop-Repsol included a breakthrough victory at the 2024 Volta a Portugal Feminina, where she won the overall classification and the final stage. She returned the following year and again won a stage while finishing second overall, giving St Michel-Preference Home-Auber93 good reason to believe there was still room for her to progress when they signed Grangier for the 2026 season.
That form has been harder to reproduce this year. Grangier finished 28th overall at the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya Femenina and 19th at the French road championships before lining up at the Tour de France Femmes for the third time in her career. She completed the opening four stages but abandoned during Stage 5 between Mâcon and Belleville-en-Beaujolais.
Her own description of the season is therefore unusually direct for a contract announcement. Rather than presenting the extension as the reward for an obvious run of results, Grangier has framed 2027 as an opportunity to return to the level she believes she can produce.
St Michel-Preference Home-Auber93 retain faith in Grangier
The extension is also significant because of the direction St Michel-Preference Home-Auber93 are taking into 2027.
The Aubervilliers organisation confirmed earlier this year that it will focus its professional resources on the women’s team from 2027, bringing its long-running men’s professional programme to an end and making the Women’s ProTeam the main elite project within the club.
That has already produced an active transfer period. Martina Fidanza, Gaia Segato and Cristina Tonetti are among the Italian riders joining for next season, while existing contracts and extensions will determine how much continuity remains around the new arrivals.
Keeping Grangier gives the team another experienced French rider who already knows the structure and has raced at WorldTour level. She has now started five women’s Grand Tours across the Tour de France Femmes and Vuelta España Femenina, experience that remains useful even after a season in which her individual results have fallen below expectations.
2027 becomes a rebuilding season
Grangier’s objective for next year is straightforward: rediscover the form that made her one of the stronger riders on Team Coop-Repsol during 2024 and 2025.
Her best results suggest that stage racing remains an obvious area to target. The two consecutive Volta a Portugal Feminina campaigns showed an ability to remain consistent across several days and finish races, while her earlier career included top-10 results at La Classique Morbihan, Grand Prix du Morbihan Féminin and other French one-day events.
At St Michel-Preference Home-Auber93, that does not necessarily mean returning as a protected leader. The team are strengthening considerably for 2027 and Grangier’s own comments place as much emphasis on contributing to collective results as rebuilding her personal palmarès.
After a first season that did not develop as either side wanted, the extension gives them another year to find out whether the partnership can produce what they expected when Grangier joined.
For the rider, the message is equally clear. St Michel-Preference Home-Auber93 have chosen not to judge the move solely on a difficult 2026. Grangier now has the 2027 season to repay that confidence.
