Lucinda Brand will continue with Lidl-Trek through the 2026 season after signing a one-year contract extension with the team. The agreement ensures the Dutch rider remains part of the American squad she joined in 2020, while also continuing to compete in cyclocross with Baloise Glowi Lions on her Trek bike.
Brand, 36, has been a central figure in Lidl-Trek’s women’s programme since its formation, combining success on the road with her dominance in cyclocross. During the 2024–25 winter season she completed a rare sweep of all three major cyclocross series – the UCI World Cup, Superprestige and X2O Badkamers Trofee – and currently leads the UCI cyclocross rankings.
On the road, Brand has built a long list of victories across stage races and one-day events, including three stage wins at the Giro d’Italia Women, the overall titles at the Tour de Suisse, Thüringen Ladies Tour and Baloise Ladies Tour, and one-day wins such as Classic Lorient Agglomération in 2014 and Omloop Het Nieuwsblad in 2017. Her 2025 season was quieter by comparison, with tenth place on stage 3 of the Tour de France Femmes her best result.
“Extending my contract with Lidl-Trek was a natural choice,” said Brand. “It’s felt like home over the last five years, and I’m really happy that our story can continue together. My role within the team has evolved, but I still feel just as valued. We have so many exciting young riders coming through, and I’m glad I get the chance to share my experience with them while continuing to perform at my best in the races.”
Lidl-Trek general manager Luca Guercilena said the extension underlined the importance of Brand’s leadership and versatility. “Lucinda has been an integral part of our women’s program since the beginning,” he said. “Her professionalism, experience, and fighting spirit set an example for everyone in the team. We’re proud to continue this journey with her and look forward to seeing what she can achieve both on the road and in cyclocross over the next season.”
Brand’s renewed contract keeps one of the most experienced and decorated all-rounders in the sport at the heart of Lidl-Trek’s roster as the team continues to balance stage-race ambitions with a strong presence in the classics and cyclocross calendar.
