Canadian rider Skye Pellerin will return to France in 2027 after signing with Team Grand Sud Cyclisme Féminin.
The 24-year-old spent the 2024 season with UVCA Troyes before returning to North American racing, and her new deal will take her back into the French domestic scene with the Montpellier-based DN1 team.
Pellerin has raced with SpeedBlock p/b Terun during 2026, building a season around stage races and one-day events in Canada and the United States. Her strongest UCI result came at the Tour of the Gila, where she finished 15th overall after five stages in New Mexico.
Pellerin returns to France after two seasons in North America
The move continues a path that has already taken Pellerin between Canada, the United States and Europe. She first raced in France with UVCA Troyes in 2024, gaining experience in the French national calendar before spending the following two seasons largely in North America.
Her recent results have included solid finishes at the Green Mountain Stage Race, Grand Prix Cycliste de Charlevoix and Tour of the Gila. She was also 12th in the Canadian elite women’s time trial in June 2026.
Those performances have given Pellerin a broad racing base rather than one narrow speciality. She has spent time in hilly stage races, time trials and harder one-day events, experience that should suit a Grand Sud programme spread across France and Spain.
Grand Sud continue building for 2027
Team Grand Sud Cyclisme Féminin are based in Montpellier and spent 2026 racing at DN1 level in France. The structure has been developing steadily since its creation in 2022, with a longer-term aim of progressing further up the women’s cycling pyramid.
The 2027 calendar published by the team currently lists 18 races between February and October, with events in both France and Spain. That gives Pellerin a more sustained European programme than she has had during the past two seasons.
The signing also fits the team’s emphasis on riders who can develop inside a French racing structure. Pellerin already knows that environment from her year with UVCA Troyes, reducing some of the adaptation that normally comes with a first move from North America to Europe.
Another Canadian, Émilie Fortin, has also secured a move into a French programme for 2027, underlining the continued flow of Canadian riders towards teams offering regular European racing.
A chance to establish herself in Europe
For Pellerin, the move is less about starting again than returning to a racing environment she has already experienced. Her 2024 season in France gave her a first look at the depth of the domestic calendar, while the last two years have added more stage-race experience and a heavier North American programme.
Grand Sud should give her the opportunity to combine both. The team’s schedule includes French and Spanish races across varied terrain, giving Pellerin room to build on her climbing and time-trial results while continuing to develop in one-day races.
The 2027 season will therefore mark a return to Europe rather than a first attempt at it. Pellerin already knows what French racing demands, and Grand Sud will now give her a full season to turn that earlier experience into a more settled European campaign.
