Barbora Němcová will join VIF Cycling Team for the 2027 season after signing a two-year contract with the Czech squad.
The 21-year-old will leave Dukla Women Cycling after three seasons and is expected to take on a leadership role at VIF. Němcová is already one of the more established young riders in Czech women’s cycling, with an elite national road title and a junior world title on the track among her results.
“I’m really looking forward to the change and I’m happy to be part of this team,” Němcová said. “I like its ambitions and the direction it wants to go in. I’m looking forward to the new season and I believe we can achieve great results together.”
Němcová moves on after three seasons with Dukla
Němcová has spent the past three seasons with Dukla Women Cycling, developing across both domestic and international programmes while remaining a regular part of the Czech national set-up.
Her biggest road result came in 2024 when she won the Czech elite road race title. Two years earlier, she had become junior world champion in the elimination race on the track, giving her a background across both disciplines before her road programme became the main focus.
The 2026 season has included further domestic success. Němcová won the opening round of the MND Cup in Bratronice in April, finished third in the Czech elite road championship and fourth in the national time trial. She also raced internationally with Dukla, including the LOTTO Thüringen Women Cycling Challenge and the Tour Féminin International des Pyrénées.
VIF see Němcová as a key leader for 2027
VIF Cycling Team have made clear that Němcová is not being signed simply to add depth. Sporting director Vojtěch Řepa described her as one of the leading names in Czech women’s cycling and said she fits the team’s longer-term strategy.
“Barbora belongs among the main names in Czech women’s cycling and is a regular part of the national team,” Řepa said. “The fact that we have agreed with such a quality rider and that Bára has placed her trust in us is a big commitment.”
VIF have been building their women’s programme rapidly and entered 2026 with UCI status, giving the team greater access to international racing. Adding Němcová gives them a rider with national-title experience, a strong track background and room to develop further over a two-year deal.
She also arrives at an age where there is still significant scope to broaden her international programme. Her results in 2026 have shown that she can remain competitive on the domestic calendar while also stepping into harder stage races abroad, something VIF will be looking to build on from next season.
A major addition to VIF’s Czech core
The transfer strengthens VIF’s position inside the Czech women’s scene as well as its international ambitions. Němcová has already spent several seasons racing alongside and against many of the riders in the team’s domestic programme, so the move should not require the kind of adaptation that comes with changing countries or racing systems.
Her two-year contract takes her through the end of 2028, giving both rider and team time to build a programme around her rather than treating 2027 as a short-term experiment.
