Georgia Baker will leave Liv AlUla Jayco at the end of the 2026 season and join Canyon SRAM on a two-year deal through 2028.
The Australian’s move, reported by WMNCycling, adds another experienced road and track rider to a Canyon SRAM squad that is being reshaped for 2027.
Baker brings a different profile to several of Canyon SRAM’s recent signings. She is an experienced sprinter and lead-out rider, but also has the endurance to survive harder one-day races and has spent much of her career combining road racing with major track championships.
Baker leaves Liv AlUla Jayco after five seasons
Baker has been part of the GreenEDGE set-up since returning to the team for the 2022 season and has become one of Liv AlUla Jayco’s most reliable riders in fast races and team support roles.
Her biggest road victory came at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where she won the road race after already taking gold on the track in both the team pursuit and points race.
She has continued to be competitive in sprints and selective finishes through 2026. Baker finished third on the opening stage of the Vuelta a Burgos Féminas behind Lorena Wiebes and Chiara Consonni, and later took second at the Tour de Gatineau behind Steffi Häberlin.
That Gatineau result also creates an immediate connection with her new team. Häberlin will join Canyon SRAM for 2027 as well, with ProCyclingUK covering the Swiss rider’s move in our Steffi Häberlin transfer story.
Track experience remains part of Baker’s value
Baker’s track background has shaped much of her road career. She was part of Australia’s world champion team pursuit squad in 2019 and has won medals at World Championships, Commonwealth Games and other major international events across the team pursuit, points race and Madison.
That experience has translated well to road racing. Baker is comfortable in high-speed positioning battles, can contribute deep into a lead-out and has the speed to finish herself when given the opportunity.
Her 2026 season has also shown that she remains competitive at WorldTour level while continuing to balance road and track ambitions. Australia selected her for the 2026 Track World Championships, keeping that part of her programme active alongside the move to Canyon SRAM.
Canyon SRAM continue reshaping for 2027
Baker’s arrival gives Canyon SRAM another experienced option around a roster that already contains strong finishing speed and a growing group of riders capable of racing across disciplines.
The move should give Baker opportunities both as a finisher and as part of the team’s sprint structure, while her track background adds another rider comfortable with the high-speed, position-heavy racing that increasingly decides flat WorldTour events.
Her signing will be added to ProCyclingUK’s women’s cycling transfers hub as the 2027 Women’s WorldTour continues to take shape.
