Career overview
Wood, formerly Alice Barnes, was one of Britain’s strongest all-rounders of her generation, combining road racing, time-trial ability and Classics experience. She won both the British national road race and national time-trial titles in 2019, a standout double that underlined her versatility. Earlier career highlights included stage wins at the BeNe Ladies Tour, Thüringen Ladies Tour and Setmana Ciclista Valenciana, plus 2nd overall at the 2017 BeNe Ladies Tour. Wood raced for Drops Cycling Team, Canyon SRAM and Human Powered Health, gaining long-term Women’s WorldTour experience before retiring at the end of the 2024 season.
