Team Coop – Hitec Products has signed a new rider for the remainder of the 2021 cycling season and the 2022 season. Ane Iversen joins the team and will make her debut on international level in the Baloise Ladies Tour. Iversen (28), who started cycling only three years ago, impressed at the Norwegian championships, taking a fourth place in the individual time trial. “I am very grateful for the offer to joining the team and hope I can be a contributor to the team.”
After playing handball in her youth, Ane wasn’t very active in sports during her education and work as a procurement advisor, which she is at this moment. “I bought my first road bike in April of 2018”, she says. “My goal then was riding the tour of Kristiansand – Hovden, 210 kilometres in 8 hours. I have since then trained with the Kristiansands Cykleklubb (KCK), which has been a great training and cycling environment. In 2019, I participated in my first National Cup, and since then I have participated in several national races.”
Her fast improvement was very well visible with the 4th place at the Norwegian championships. “I am very happy with the result, but I know I have more to gain regarding pacing and the aerodynamics. The Norwegian championship in ITT gave me lust for more and the goal is to take the national jersey.” At Team Coop – Hitec Products Ane can now work on that and more goals. “The goal is to develop myself within the existing framework and to be a contributor to the team. In the long run I want to cycle at international top level and take gold at the ITT Nationals.”
