Billy Goossens joins Minimax Cycling Team for 2027

Billy Goossens will join Minimax Cycling Team for the 2027 season, leaving AG Insurance-Soudal’s development programme after two years with the Belgian structure.

The 20-year-old Belgian has spent 2025 and 2026 with the AG Insurance-Soudal U23 and Devo teams, while also getting several opportunities to race alongside the WorldTour squad. Minimax confirmed the signing through its official Instagram account, adding another young Belgian rider to a roster that is being reshaped for the team’s second season at UCI Continental level.

Goossens’ best result of 2026 came at Dwars door het Hageland in June, where she finished fifth after a selective 83km race in Aarschot. She also placed 13th in the Belgian elite road race championship and collected several other top-20 finishes through the summer and autumn.

Goossens takes next step after two years with AG Insurance-Soudal

Goossens joined the AG Insurance-Soudal U23 set-up for 2025, her first season out of the junior ranks. That year was mainly about adjusting to longer elite races and the depth of the Continental calendar, including starts at Antwerp Port Epic and the Belgian national championships.

There was a clearer step forward in 2026. Fifth at Dwars door het Hageland was her first UCI top five, while she also finished 19th at GP Mazda Schelkens, 16th at Grote Prijs CHW Beveren and 18th at Dwars door Wingene. She also finished 13th at the Belgian elite road championships, improving sharply on her 47th place from 2025.

She finished the season with 16th at Binche-Chimay-Binche, another solid result in a hard Belgian one-day race. ProCyclingUK covered her fifth place at Dwars door het Hageland, where Dina Scavone won the sprint from the reduced front group.

Experience above development-team level

AG Insurance-Soudal also used Goossens regularly with its senior squad during her two seasons in the development structure. Those opportunities included Omloop van het Hageland, Trofee Maarten Wynants, Antwerp Port Epic and Argenta Classic in 2026.

That gave her experience of larger fields and faster race finales without requiring an immediate move into a WorldTour contract. It also suited a rider whose best results so far have come in flat and rolling one-day races rather than mountain events or stage-race general classifications.

Goossens is the younger sister of WorldTour rider Marthe Goossens, and the pair have occasionally appeared together in AG Insurance-Soudal selections. Billy’s move to Minimax now gives her a separate route to continue progressing within the Belgian Continental scene.

Minimax continue building their 2027 squad

Minimax stepped up to UCI Continental level for 2026 after developing a women’s pathway that runs from youth racing through to the elite team. The Wallonia-based structure has made rider development central to its model, with Goossens joining at 20 after two seasons in another Belgian development programme.

The Belgian federation has accepted Minimax’s application for UCI Continental status for 2027, subject to the remaining licence requirements being completed before final ratification. The team is already well into building the roster for next season.

Goossens joins several new arrivals, including Mieke Docx, who will combine racing with an off-bike role, and Britt De Grave.

Goossens moves to Minimax after a 2026 season that produced her first top-five UCI result and several competitive performances in Belgian one-day races. The 2027 season will be her third full year in the elite ranks.
