ToggleThe Austrian rider’s departure was confirmed by Fenix-Premier Tech, bringing an end to a four-year spell with the team. Schrempf described the move as the start of a “new chapter”, while Fenix said it had agreed not to stand in her way when the opportunity arose.
The team’s announcement can be viewed on Instagram.
The move also becomes part of the developing 2027 market tracked in ProCyclingUK’s Women’s Cycling Transfers Hub.
Schrempf leaves after four seasons with Fenix-Premier Tech
Schrempf joined the Fenix structure after switching to professional cycling and has developed into a versatile rider capable of contributing across rolling races, breakaways and harder one-day events.
Her time with the team has included several strong performances at WorldTour level, while her willingness to race aggressively has become one of the defining features of her profile.
That should make her a natural fit for an SD Worx-Protime squad that consistently values riders capable of working deep into races without needing a protected role.
ProCyclingUK’s SD Worx-Protime 2026 Women’s WorldTour team guide highlights the breadth already present in the Dutch team’s roster, from Lorena Wiebes and Lotte Kopecky to riders used in more tactical and support-heavy roles.

Schrempf: ‘They gave me the opportunity to become a professional cyclist’
Announcing her departure, Schrempf thanked Fenix-Premier Tech for the opportunity to establish herself at the highest level.
“I’m incredibly grateful to Fenix-Premier Tech. They gave me the opportunity to become a professional cyclist and helped me develop over the past four years.
“I could learn so much from my teammates, the coaches and the DSs and I’ve always raced here with great pleasure, so I’ll take many great memories with me into this new chapter.”
The 31-year-old will remain with Fenix-Premier Tech through the end of the current season before moving into the SD Worx-Protime structure for 2027.
Fenix-Premier Tech agreed to facilitate the move
Fenix-Premier Tech made clear that Schrempf’s departure was handled amicably after the opportunity arose.
The team said:
“When this opportunity came up for Carina, we didn’t want to stand in her way. After four years together, we agreed to cooperate and make a smooth transition possible.
“We thank Carina for everything she has done for our team and wish her every success in this next chapter.”
That wording makes the nature of the move particularly clear. Fenix-Premier Tech were prepared to cooperate once Schrempf had the chance to move to one of the most successful teams in women’s cycling.
What Schrempf can bring to SD Worx-Protime
Schrempf is unlikely to arrive as a headline leader, but that is not where her value lies.
Her ability to ride aggressively, contribute from breakaways, survive rolling terrain and work for others gives SD Worx-Protime another option for one-day races and selective stage-race days.
That fits the wider balance of the squad.
The SD Worx-Protime 2026 team guide shows a team already built around major leaders such as Wiebes and Kopecky but supported by a large group of riders capable of adapting their roles depending on the race.
Schrempf adds another experienced option to that layer of the team.
Her move also follows a familiar pattern in SD Worx-Protime recruitment. The team rarely needs to overhaul its roster and instead tends to make targeted additions around an already established core, something also evident in ProCyclingUK’s analysis of the 2026 Women’s WorldTour transfer market.
Another confirmed move in the 2027 women’s transfer market
Schrempf’s transfer adds another confirmed move to an increasingly active 2027 market.
Teams are beginning to secure both leaders and experienced support riders well before the end of the current season, with continuity becoming particularly important as squads build around longer-term Women’s WorldTour projects.
For Schrempf, the move represents a significant step after four seasons with Fenix-Premier Tech.
For SD Worx-Protime, it is another piece of targeted recruitment for a squad whose sponsors are already committed through 2028, giving the team unusual long-term stability at the top of women’s cycling.
ProCyclingUK previously covered that sponsorship security in Team SD Worx-Protime secures sponsorship until 2028.
Schrempf will now complete the 2026 season with Fenix-Premier Tech before beginning the next chapter of her career with Team SD Worx-Protime in 2027.
