Cédrine Kerbaol departs Ceratizit-WNT after licence delay allows early contract exit

Cédrine Kerbaol has parted ways with Ceratizit-WNT, seizing an opportunity to leave her contract a year early following an administrative delay in the team’s Women’s WorldTour licence application. The team’s absence from the initial UCI list of licence applicants for 2025 triggered a clause which enables riders to terminate their agreements with immediate effect. Ceratizit-WNT has since rectified the paperwork issue, but by then, Kerbaol had already opted to move on.

“Naturally, we’re disappointed to see Cédrine depart in this way, but we respect her decision and wish her all the best for the road ahead,” said team manager Claude Sun in a statement. “As a team, we can look proudly back on our most successful season in our history, one that spans 10 years now since our beginnings back in the UK.”

Since joining Ceratizit-WNT in 2023, Kerbaol has emerged as a key rider, amassing eight victories over her two seasons with the team. Among her achievements was a standout performance in the 2024 Tour de France Femmes, where she secured Stage 6 with a daring solo descent into Morteau, marking France’s first stage win in the race. She also claimed the Best Young Rider jersey at the Tour de France Femmes, the French national time trial title in 2023, and added wins at Tre Valli Varesine, the Vuelta CV Feminas, and Durango-Durango to her name.

The team extended their thanks for Kerbaol’s contributions, saying, “The entire Ceratizit-WNT team thanks Cédrine for her contributions during the past two seasons and wish her every success in the future.”

Kerbaol has not yet announced which team she will race for in 2025, though speculation suggests a WorldTour team may already be lined up. Sharing her thoughts on Instagram, Kerbaol said, “Thanks for these two years, rich in learning and emotions. Time for me for another project.”

With Kerbaol and Marta Lach departing, Ceratizit-WNT is preparing for a new chapter as it heads into its 11th season. Sun remains optimistic about the future, saying, “We look ahead with excitement to our 11th season in 2025 and second in the WorldTour, welcoming several talented young riders as part of a new-look team.”
