Race decided in a convulsive sprint on Maldon’s climb. Shooting the fugitive Anna Handerson a few hundred meters away, the two girls directed by Davide Arzeni made their way through the group crossing the finish line in the top positions.
For Silvia Persico, this is the tenth place of the season, of which six obtained in World Tour races. Chiara Consonni, returning to road races after the parenthesis of the Track Nations Cup with the national team, is instead in the 12th top 10 of the season, of which three gained in World Tour races.
Tomorrow’s second stage, from Chelmsford to Epping of 141 km. An undulating stage with 1368 meters in altitude, almost concentrated in the final circuit, to be repeated three times, around Epping Forest, the historic former royal forest.
