Career overview
Deignan, formerly Elizabeth Armitstead, was one of Britain’s defining road riders, winning Olympic road race silver in 2012 and the world road race title in 2015. Her Classics record included Tour of Flanders, Strade Bianche, Liège-Bastogne-Liège and the first Paris-Roubaix Femmes in 2021, alongside repeated wins at GP de Plouay and Trofeo Alfredo Binda. She also won the Women’s Tour overall in 2016 and 2019, the 2015 Ladies Tour of Qatar, four British road race titles and early world titles on the track. Deignan raced for Trek-Segafredo and Lidl-Trek in the final phase of her career before retiring with immediate effect in July 2025.
