Evy Kuijpers signs with Plantur-Pura for two years, Christina Schweinberger extends

Evy Kuijpers

Current Human Powered Health rider Evy Kuijpers will join Plantur-Pura for 2 years from next season. The 27-year-old leaves Human Powered Health after 1 season on the WWT team. She joined them from the Liv Racing team where she had been for a number of years. Her role this year has been to pull the peloton along from the front and close down any breaks. However, it hasn’t been a hugely successful season for the Human Powered Health team who now find their future Women’s Worldtour status in jeopardy with only a very strong 2023 season able to make amends. Kuijpers’ best result of the 2022 season has been 5th on Stage 2 of the Baloise Ladies Tour.

“During the first conversations with the team management, I had a good feeling about it. Plantur-Pura is a super ambitious team that works in a structured way and with a clear vision. For me as a rider that is very important.

In addition, the team has a few Belgian talents who have taken a step forward this year. I hope that my experience in the WWT can contribute to the further growth of the team.”

While Plantur-Pura brought in Kuijpers, the team also extended Christina Schweinberger’s contract. The 25-year-old Austrian will remain on the Plantur Pura team until the end of 2025. Schweinberger made the switch from Multum Accountants Ladies and was previously on Health Mate as a strong Continental rider. She has three victories in 2022: the Austrian championship on the road, the Austrian time trial championship and a time trial in the Czech stage race Gracia-Orlová. She was also 2nd behind Ilaria Sanguineti at Dwars door het Hageland and 6th at Dwars door de Westhoek too.

Both contracts helps to strengthen the Plantur Pura team, with Kuijpers it gives them a rider type that they don’t currently have.
