Career overview

Nilsson built her career as a climbing-focused Swedish road rider, with strong results in hilly stage races and national championships. Her breakthrough came in 2017, when she won stage 2 of the Tour Cycliste Féminin International de l’Ardèche and finished 3rd overall, also taking the mountains classification. She later finished 2nd overall at the 2019 Setmana Ciclista Valenciana and won stage 3, confirming her strength on selective terrain. Nilsson was also a regular Swedish national championship contender, finishing on the podium in both the road race and time-trial, and represented Sweden at World and European Championships. She raced for several international teams, including BTC City Ljubljana, Alé Cipollini, Ceratizit-WNT Pro Cycling and Parkhotel Valkenburg.
